How to kitesurf upwind!
Here are some simple steps that you can practice on the water. If there is not a lot of wind it is hard to ride upwind but if there is too much wind it is also hard to ride upwind. The best circumstances to learn upwind kitesurfing is with a wind range between 18 and 30 knots.
Step 1. Lean back in your kite harness
Step 2. Bring your hips forward and slightly stretch your legs, while still leaning back
Step 3. Try to carve the board on your heel as much as you can
Step 4. Keep your eyes focused at a point upwind and try to ride to that point
